Richard Lett

Known as "Canada’s George Carlin”, this pioneer of West Coast comedy has kept audiences howling for over fifteen years. Richard Lett always entertains with his silly childhood stories, crazy antics as a modern dad, all the way to his hard-nosed political satire. Richard delighted audiences in the ten of thousands at the Merritt Mountain Music Festival and now cohosts a weekly open mic at Campo Verde’s. His recent tour of the east coast garnered him credits working with Chris Rock and Robin Williams, playing some of New York City’s, and comedy’s, greatest rooms.

Richard is often recognized for his many television appearances, in particular the men’s show, a 13 part series on modern urban fathers, his appearances on The Comedy Network and Stand Up Samurais, as well as his guest star roles on US shows like Dark Angel and Young Person’s Guide to Becoming A Rock Star.

If you frequant Western Canada's live comedy venues, then you know who Richard Lett is. Like his hero Bob Segar, Richard has chosen home turf to hone his craft. Breanna, Lett's daughter supports her father's desire to stay close to home. So if you are from LA or TO, this performer might be new to you. But if your from Vancouver, or Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Ft.St.John…, you know Richard is one of the funniest guys you'll ever seen anywhere.

Legendary for a three hour show in Williams Lake, being arrested onstage by the Surrey RCMP after recommending to a balding constable that "a turban
would cover that up nicely", being assaulted onstage by an ex-con in Edson after assuring him,"Don't worry, this is all gonna come up in Grade 10"
(coincidentally the felon's last year of education) and for establishing the first comedian-run venue in Vancouver, The POCO LOCO.
